This is a successor to my briefly-lived Liminal Industries thread. With that one I was testing the waters a bit. I ended up feeling too self-conscious to really commit, and I only had the idea to make the thread during the last chapter anyway, so it didn't really get the time or room to go anywhere. (If you were around for my first thread, uh... give me a bit to get this off the ground, OK, it won't just be a rehash of the first one I swear.)

Liminal Industries is a Minecraft modpack by Appocryptha about developing automation in the backrooms. It might be my favorite Minecraft modpack!

Liminal Industries - Oil Expansion is a fork by Ivy_Pancakes that fleshes the modpack out, most notably with a whole extra chapter for oil production. I actually was rather disappointed by how little oil mattered in the original modpack so I have high hopes for this.

I'm playing with cheats on and I've also added Exposure: Polaroid in order to take these screenshots faster.

I have a character I'm playing for this series (we might see them later). If you want to play in the space, these are posts that are materializing on a forum with no prior context. You can also just make OOC posts and I might respond IC or OOC depending on my mood.

I am having fun! An issue I do have is that the Alloy Smelter mod does feel incredibly janky. For example at one point I had put 8 buckets of concrete in it to be turned into lava and when I pulled out 1 bucket the rest disappeared. Always turn cheats on for your modded worlds, kids

This is my sulfur crucible generation setup right now.
It sucks!

Trying to find lithium batteries has dampened my enjoyment as I really don't enjoy having to go into the sculked zones - especially not this early - but I did some poking around in the recipes and saw that you can alternatively make batteries with sulfuric acid, so that's where I'm at.

But hopefully I can get a second mixer working because the last one I built didn't work to the point where I had to use commands. Create TFMG does not seem to be a very well-maintained mod and that is a shame because thematically it is very awesome.

I also have to make a lot of red sand and that has been similarly tedious. I think around this same point in my last playthrough my bottleneck was steel. This time around it's batteries.

this is really funny to me because you were simulating the struggle of one industrial revolution before and now you're stuck on the modern one's problem
