Obligatory OOC first post: Hi! I've been working on a Nuzlocke project for a while where I write diaries from the point of view of my player character, Bailey. One day this will all be up on a website of its own, and probably at least lightly illustrated, but since I've been working on it for so long and it's been pretty slow, I wanted to share it as a forum Let's Play so people can keep up with their adventures (and motivate me to continue them).
Since this Let's Play is also a highly-embellished work of fiction, this first post is entirely "non-canon" and the character who will be narrating the diaries has no idea this exists. They also won't be replying to any replies made, but replies are enjoyed and I might respond OOC to them.
Diary entries will be posted daily while I have a backlog, and "when they're done" once I get caught up! I hope everyone enjoys Bailey's completely normal Pokémon adventure!

Dear diary,
My name is Bailey! Today I am 10!!!! Which means I get to get a Pokémon for the first time. For soooo long I have been reading about Pokémon and thinking about what I am going to do when I get one. We are going to go on a big adventure like the other kids in my town! They all went away a while ago to go on adventures so it's just me and Jack now. I don't like Jack that much, he's not very nice to me. But that doesn't matter because I'm getting a Pokémon!!!!!!!!!
Dear diary again,
I got the Pokémon Squirtle. I named him Tiny because I know from my Pokémon books Squirtle is called the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. He is sooooooo tiny! Professor Oak said he is small even for a Squirtle, but he might grow up big...either way he's Tiny to me!!! Jack made us have a battle right when I got him and it was really annoying. But I won! Tiny is the strongest Squirtle ever even if he is small. And you know what else is cool? Professor Oak gave me a Pokédex! I never thought I would have one of these. It's super cool and I'm going to try to catch Pokémon and learn even more about them.

Dear diary,
It's tomorrow! I decided to start my Pokemon adventure with my new friend Tiny. I went all the way to Viridian City and got my first Pokéballs! I caught a Pidgey and named her Piper, because she makes funny sounds like a flute. And then I caught a Rattata! He almost hurt Piper pretty bad, but I got him nice and comfy in a Pokéball, so maybe he can be nice to Piper now. His name is Craig! Oh yeah, and I caught a Caterpie outside of Viridian Forest. I didn't know what to name her, so I just named her Lettuce because she's green.
Inside Viridian Forest was really scary. It was like a maze in there, but I found a Weedle, and I named her Banana. I guess I'm just hungry...I brought snacks, but there's not a lot of places to eat when you're adventuring. I would never eat my Pokemon though! Oh, by the way, Lettuce already evolved! She's a Metapod now! She looks even more like lettuce now. She evolved right as we were getting to Pewter City. Tomorrow I get to check out the city!

Dear diary,
Today I spent the day walking around Pewter City. This city is even bigger than I expected. There's a lot to see. I got a ticket to the museum, and saw a bunch of cool stuff! It would be so cool to go to space one day. I wonder if a Pokemon could take me to space? That would be so fun! For now though I have to train up to fight the gym in this city! It's really tough, but I can do it!

Tiny was able to beat the whole gym all by himself! His water move was SO strong. I'm so proud of him! I knew he would be the strongest Squirtle ever. Tomorrow we're going to go on the path to the mountain! I saw there's a lot of trainers over there. We can see how strong we are now!

Dear diary,
Craig got really hurt...a trainer with a Pidgey knocked him out and he wouldn't get back up. I tried to take him to the Pokemon Center, but they said he might be sick for a long time, and they took him to the back. I hope he gets better soon. He was mean to Pidgeys so I guess a Pidgey wanted to be mean back to him. Then I got Banana evolved all the way to a Beedrill, and it was so cool! But then, someone had a JIGGLYPUFF! And it was way stronger than I thought it was going to be. It knocked out Banana! The Pokemon Center couldn't help her either...I don't know why. Usually when people's Pokemon get hurt, the Pokemon Center helps them out. But not mine...I really hope I can keep the rest of my Pokemon safe. I'll have to be really careful from now on.

Dear diary,
I took a rest, because both me and my Pokemon were pretty scared after that big battle. But today I'm going into Mt. Moon. Just before I did that I caught a Spearow and named her Smokey. She has a really strong move so I hope she can help!! And then I went into Mt. Moon! I have never been into a mountain or cave before, and it's really wierd! There are Zubats and Geodudes everywhere. I caught a Zubat and named her Slurpie because she would not stop trying to slurp up Lettuce! Just because her name is Lettuce doesn't mean she's food!!!!! Haha!!

Dear diary,
It always seems to be the girls with the cutest cuddlyest looking Pokemon that are super dangerous. A girl wanted to battle me with her Clefairy and it knocked out both Piper and Smokey. Both of my cute little birds are gone now. I don't know why the Pokemon Center can't help me with them, they all just end up in this computer I can't touch. Mt. Moon is wayyyy too dangerous for me right now I guess I need to train my Pokemon outside so they can get strong enough.
Good news though! I got Lettuce to evolve into Butterfree! She doesn't look like lettuce anymore but maybe her wings are kind of like leafs. Since she was stronger I decided to go back in the cave. We did a lot better! Tiny even evolved! He's a Wartortle now and he is still pretty small but he did get bigger just like Professor Oak said he would.
There were a lot of creepy guys around the mountain...they kept talking about fossils and that was confusing. But then I got to where someone found some fossils and he challenged me to a battle because he didn't want to share them! That was kind of mean. But I beat him! He let me take one of the fossils. I got the one he called the Dome Fossil. It was funny looking! I wonder if I could put it in the museum I went to. They would like a fossil like this. After I got the fossil I got to Cerulean City! That was an exausting adventure. I am so ready to rest for the night!

Dear diary,
I had a really wierd dream. It felt like I lived a whole different life for a long time, and I was a grown up and I had to go to a job, and it was in a world where there wasn't any Pokemon. Can you belive that! A world with no Pokemon! Well I live in a world with Pokemon so that was just a bad dream. And guess what! When I woke up my Pokemon were all right next to me! They were out of their Pokeballs and they looked a lot stronger. I think they went out and trained in the grass while I was sleeping. That is so crazy! I am so proud of my Pokemon. Cerulean City is going to be so fun.
I walked around a while and talked to people. There was a house that had gotten robbed which was scary. Maybe my Pokemon can help them some day. Next I am going to go to the gym here! They are training water type Pokemon so it might be hard because Tiny is water type too.

Dear diary,
Woah!! We battled the gym and I thought I was not going to be strong enough yet but my Pokemon did so good! Tiny beat Misty's Starmie with only 1 HP left! I am so proud of them!!!!!!
When I tried to leave the city to keep going on my adventure, Jack was there and he battled me too. He is so annoying, he was trying to act like he was better than me but his Pokemon aren't as nice as mine so they weren't as strong. Even though he had more Pokemon than me mine were stronger so I beat him, so there. He told me to go talk to a guy named Bill, he said he made the PC. That one I can't use...why would he make something you can't use?? Maybe I can ask him questions about it.
First, I had to go across this bridge with a lot of trainers on it. They said it was called Nugget Bridge and they would give me a prize if I beat them all. I had to go back to the Pokemon Center a couple times but I did it! They gave me a Nugget which I don't know what to do with but it is pretty. Then they asked me if I wanted to join Team Rocket and ummmm....they literally said they were evil. No thank you!!!!! They even tried to attack me but I am way stronger anyway ha ha. I can beat any evil guy! Now I can heal up and take a break and then explore the next route.

Dear diary,
I went all the way to Bill's house and got to meet him. It was really wierd...he was in the body of a Pokemon when I saw him and he had me help him with his computer. He went into this big machine and I pressed a button on the computer and he came back out as a human. Can computers really do that kind of stuff? I wonder what else computers can do. I didn't get to ask him anything because he was so busy with his computer stuff. Anyway, he gave me a ticket to go on the S.S. Anne, that big ship everyone's talking about. I have to go to Vermillion City for it but it will be worth it I bet!
On my way down to Vermillion City, I found a Meowth! She is so so cute! I named her Meow because she makes the cutest meows at me. I hope I can train her to be strong and scratch all our enemies!!! But then further on the path, I got stuck in 2 battles in a row, and someone's Raticate bit Slurpie really hard! She fell down and fainted, and the Pokemon Center workers took her away when I brought her in. I still don't know what happens to them in that PC box they put them in. It's sad and I miss my Pokemon friends. I went back up to the route where Slurpie got hurt and caught a Bellsprout, and named her Tippy because she looks like she is walking on tippy toes. She reminds me a little bit of Slurpie. I hope Meow and Tippy will stay safe.
Dear diary,
I finally made it to the S.S. Anne! The ship is so big and so cool and everyone on it is so fancy! I am just a normal kid so I feel kind of out of place here. But my Pokemon are strong and I have been winning all the battles everyone is challenging me to! Tippy even evolved! She is a Weepinbell now. She looks silly and she doesn't have any tippy toes to stand on anymore but she still dances around so cutely!
I explored almost the whole ship and met a lot of people and won a lot of battles. I even beat Jack in a battle, he was mean as usual, but he was no match for my team! I helped the ship captain feel less seasick and he gave me a move to teach my Pokemon. Everyone has been talking about this move, Cut, and I can finally see what it's all about. I wonder who I'll teach it to.
I only had 1 more room left to explore in the ship, but when I went out to go heal my Pokemon, the boat left without me! Oh well...I guess the sailors down there were probably pretty mean anyway if they were all in that big room wanting to battle. Back to my adventure!
Before resting for tonight, I went out and explored the Diglett tunnel! I even caught a Diglett! I named him Delver. I learned that word that means when someone goes into a cave to explore it. And Delver explores caves AND makes them! And then I caught a Sandshrew in the grass outside! I named him Dusty, because he was taking a dust bath when I found him! He is so cute and he can learn the move Cut so he can cut down the trees for me! Now it's time for bed, we need a good rest after all the busyness today!

Dear diary,
It's exploring time! I can get so many more places now that Dusty can cut down trees for me! I walked around a lot and did some battles and then I found the back way into the museum I went to before! One of the scientists gave me a piece of amber and said I should bring it to a Pokemon Lab so they can do experiments on it. They said that some people think they can bring back ancient Pokemon. That would be so cool! I would love to meet an ancient Pokemon. I wonder if one day I could be brought back from a fossil. I would have to be really old for them to do that I bet.

Dear diary,
Today I explored a lot! I walked all around and found my way back to Vermillion City so I could try to fight the gym there! But first I walked around the city and talked to people there. Someone gave me a fishing rod! I'm going to try to catch something once I beat the gym! Also, I found a fan club with people who like to talk about their Pokemon. I told them all about my Pokemon friends and they thought they were really cute. They were confused when I told them about the Pokemon Center taking them away, though. They said they didn't battle but that doesn't usually happen to people who do battle. That's wierd and creepy...but then the fan club president got started talking all about his own Pokemon and got distracted from talking about anything else. When I listened to his story he gave me a coupon to use for a bike! I should go see if I can get one. But first I'll take a rest and then I can challenge the gym here!

Dear diary,
The gym was soooooo easy! Dusty and Delver were super strong and the electric type attacks couldn't even hit them at all! So they did super good and beat everyone. I'm so proud of them!!
After the battle, I tried to go fishing, and there were only Magikarp. I caught one and named him Flip because he kept flipping and flopping around. But when I tried to take him to the Pokemon Center to heal him, they took the Pokeball he was in and said they would be saved for later. What does that mean??!! I hope they don't eat him or something!! Well I guess maybe I will see him later...my team is full anyways so I hope he can have some rest. Maybe they will train him there so he can get strong too. Time to keep exploring! I tried to go to Lavender Town, but there was a big Pokemon sleeping that I couldn't get past! It was really big...I hope it isn't mean. I guess I have to find another way around.

Dear diary,
Sheesh!! So much walking around!!! I had to wander around forever until I got all the way back to Cerulean City and saw the little tree I could cut down by Route 9. I am exausted!!!!! But there are so many trainers to battle...it's my Pokemon's turn to use their energy now!
Oh also, I caught a new Pokemon! A Voltorb! It kept doing a move that was super loud and powerful and my Pokedex said it was called "Sonic Boom" so I named him BOOM!!!!! But...the Pokemon Center put him in the back again, just like Flip the Magikarp. Maybe he will BOOM so loud they let him out!!
Well, next up is Rock Tunnel, so I should rest for the night here at this Pokemon Center. None of my Pokemon can learn Flash, the move that is supposed to light up the cave, so...I hope I can make it through without it!

Dear diary,
Wow, first thing in the Rock Tunnel, I found a Machop! I caught him and named him Kidd because he looked kind of like a little kid, but if a little kid was a monster who could do crazy karate chops!!! Haha!! Again, though, he got taken to the back...ugh. This time the Pokemon Center people gave me a wierd little map though, and said it was a guide to the cave since I didn't have Flash. It's all crumpled up and tiny and looks like a bunch of squares, but I guess I can kind of understand it.
I was able to use the map as a guide to feel around the walls of the tunnel, so that was OK, but...a hiker knocked out Lettuce! His Geodude threw a rock at her and she got all crumpled up...she's been with me for so long and a stupid ROCK got her. I hate Geodude!!!!!!!! And the rest of the tunnel was FULL of strong trainers that were really scary! It took everything I had to make it out to the other side...at least I didn't lose any more Pokemon.
When the Pokemon Center took Lettuce, they handed me back a new Pokeball instead. It was Flip!! The Magikarp I caught! And he WAS stronger! But still pretty weak...maybe I can train him to be even stronger now that he is not stuck in the computer anymore.
At least I am finally in Lavender Town...it's really creepy here but it's still a place to rest. Good night!

Dear diary,
I explored Lavender Town some more today. It is really sad here. People are sad because their Pokemon died. Is that what keeps happening to my Pokemon? Dying? Usually when Pokemon go down in battle they just faint. But maybe something is wrong with mine. I hope I'm not a bad trainer. The tower here is supposed to be for remembering the Pokemon that died so I will go there and remember my friends that I lost so far. Craig the Rattata, Banana the Beedrill, Piper the Pidgey, Smokey the Spearow, Slurpie the Zubat, and Lettuce the Butterfree, I will always remember you.

Dear diary,
I HATE JACK!!!!! He was in the tower when I went and he made me battle him and he KILLED MEOW!!!! Right as I was remembering my other Pokemon too. So now Meow is DEAD too. Jack had a scary dragon thing called a Gyarados that hit her with a super strong water attack and we didn't see it coming at all. But then you know what the craziest thing is? Right after the battle, Flip, my Magikarp, evolved into a Gyarados too! What?!?!?! That feels super wierd. And it kind of makes me mad. But I don't want to be mad at Flip. He isn't mean, Jack is mean.
Since I lost another team member, the Pokemon Center gave me back another one of the Pokemon I caught earlier. Now Boom is on my team. I have never had an electric Pokemon. I am kind of scared to hold him, because he is really fast and feels all staticy. But maybe he can become strong!

Dear diary,
I have been doing a lot of training! Lots of trainers hang out outside near Lavender Town. Delver even evolved!!! He is a Dugtrio now and it is pretty funny because he has 3 heads now. I wonder if they fight at all. They look like they are working together pretty good. It must be wierd to have a bunch of different brains. Or maybe he just has 1? I bet he can see the world in a really cool and uniqe way with so many eyes. And he is even better at digging now!!!
Anyway, after I trained up, I walked through the underground passage to get to Celadon City. That was a LONGGGG and BORINGGGG walk! But right outside the end of the tunnel, I caught a Vulpix!!! I named her Millie and she is SO cute. But I know how it is now...I don't get to see her again unless one of my Pokemon dies. It makes me so sad. Why can't I have more Pokemon?? The people at the Pokemon Center don't even explain anything to me, they just do stuff and act like it's just what they always do. But they don't treat other people like me. I am so confused. Well, I hope Millie can have fun sleeping in the computer for now. And I should sleep too. Today was kind of boring but a lot of work!

Dear diary,
Today I explored Celadon City! It is HUGE!! There is so much to do. I went to a mansion and talked to some people who were acting really silly and saying this was a video game that they made...they must be really exited about their video game they are making! I saw them working on it on their computers. It almost looks like real life!! Wow!! Also I saw there was a secret staircase around the back of the building so I walked up there and there was an EEVEE!! I named her Maizy because it was kind of like a maze to get up there. Her and Millie can be friends in the computer now.
I also did some shopping at the department store here. It's SO big! There was a lot to buy but I mostly just got some cool rocks that the store person said would help my Pokemon evolve. And they did! When I bought a Leaf Stone, Tippy reached out her vines and grabbed it and she evolved into Victreebel! She is SO COOL and so strong now.
Then I went to the Game Corner. The Game Corner was really boring, because I couldn't play any of the games and it was just people sitting there pressing buttons over and over anyways. I did battle a guy from Team Rocket though, he got mad at me for wanting to look at a poster he was standing by and it turned out there was a button under the poster. I pressed it and it opened up a door! And behind the door was SECRET STAIRS!! There was a whole hideout underneath the Game Corner! It was really big and confusing with these arrow things that made me really dizzy. But I got all the way to the bottom of it and FOUGHT THE LEADER!! AND WON!!! I got his Silph Scope that he stole so I can go back to Lavender Town and see the ghosts!
That was such a busy day and I am soooo tired! Tomorrow I will try to challenge the gym here too!! But for now I need to SLEEP!!
